Being formed as disciples of Jesus Christ
Manthano (which is the Greek word for “learning”) is a 34 session program divided into 5 modules designed to help introduce participants to the Bible, Christian theology, spiritual practices, and the call to mission and outreach. The goal is to help participants experience the Bible in new ways, understanding the basic tenets of faith, think about how to engage in practices that help them grow closer to God, and to think intentionally about their calling to offer God’s love to others.
The program is divided into 5 segments, which allows some flexibility in scheduling rather than entering into a commitment for a weekly 34 week program. As designed, each segment will include a “field trip” at the end of the segment to introduce participants to different aspects of the faith experience. The modules are:
- Beginning to Understand the Bible: The Old Testament
- Understanding the Bible: The New Testament
- An Introduction to Christian Theology
- Practicing our Faith: An Overview of Spiritual Practice
- The Call to Go: Mission and Outreach
