For several years, we have been working to look at upgrading our playground at City Road Chapel. Our existing playground has reached the end of its life and its time for something new. After much research and after determining how we could fund the upgrade, we have signed the contracts and are hoping that our playground renovation project can be completed by sometime in September of 2019. We’ve created this page to help you keep up with what’s going on with the project.
As we move forward, we really need your help! We have a lot of work to do to remove the old equipment and surfacing and get the site ready for our equipment and surfacing. And while we have the funding in place, we are borrowing $70,000 to complete the project and we definitely need your donations and help with fundraisers to pay off that loan in a timely fashion.
We have scheduled August 16-17 and August 23-24 for our Playground Demolition Parties! We need a bunch of folks to come and help us remove fencing, pull up tiles, tear up equipment, and throw it all in the dumpster so that we can have a clean slate on which to build the new playground. It’s possible we can get that all done in one weekend, but just in case we are scheduling two as there is a lot to be done.
Click here to visit our signup page to help us know that you are coming. Currently, we are only registering folks for the first weekend, but we will be adding additional signups and we know more about what we are facing.
