Care Ministries at City Road Chapel

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.

John 13:34

One of the most basic tasks of the Christian community is caring for those who are struggling with the difficulties of life. Whether it is bodies failing us in our old age, serious illness, or some other struggle we believe we are called to take care of one another in our need. Sometimes that might be as simple as a short visit or a card, while other times it may involve providing food or transportation for someone who is unable to take care of these things themselves. In all cases, the place of prayer as a means of caring for one another is central to our life together.

City Road Chapel has a variety of ways that it offers care to folks in our church and in the broader community. These include:

  • Intentional prayer for the sick and grieving
  • Visiting those who are no longer able to attend church on Sunday mornings (the homebound) and those who are in the hospital
  • Providing food for the sick and/or families dealing with the death of a loved one
  • Assisting with transportation for persons needing to go to the doctor or attend to some other need
  • Providing emotional and spiritual support for persons who are charged with caring for a loved one with physical or cognitive impairment

Should you be experiencing an emergency in which you need assistance from our pastor, please call the church at (615) 868-1673 and dial extension 104 to make contact with Pastor Jay Voorhees.
