Jesus clearly commanded that one of the most important tasks for all is to love our neighbors.
But how are we to love our neighbors when we barely KNOW our neighbors?
For that matter, how do we love our neighbors when seem so divided in our beliefs.
For years, Fred Rogers presented a world in which being neighbors was important,
a world is which being a part of a neighborhood was not something to be feared, but rather something to be celebrated.
During the month of August, the people of the City Road Chapel UMC will be thinking about what it means to be a good neighbor in a divided world, drawing on the scriptures and the example of Mr. Rogers (a Presbyterian minister) to think about how we can embrace and love our neighbors most fully. Each Sunday morning, at 8 and 10 a.m., we will be looking at the values upon which great neighborhoods are built.
All of this is leading to a very special event on Sunday, August 26, 2018:
This event is a great party for ALL our neighbors, featuring free food, games, and live music.
There is no agenda other than to simply be neighbors together.
Come one and all and be a part of our beautiful neighborhood.
