Over the past several months, City Road Chapel UMC has developed a relationship with a new organization in the Madison area called The Beat. Led by Darrin Bradbury, a former Americana musician, The Beat works with people living in encampments and operates a 9-person “recovery house” for those working there way from the streets toward stability.
On Thursday, September 7th at 7:00 p.m. Darrin will be hosting a special evening of music featuring Langhorne Slim, Parker Millsap, and Coralee, as well as several guest speakers to raise money for their work with those experiencing homelessness. The concert will be in the City Road Chapel Sanctuary, and light refreshments will be available. A $10 donation is suggested for attending the show.
If you can’t make it in person, the show will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/live/iVdsvozFE1Y?feature=share and donations can be made online.
