Christmas Eve Worship Canceled

Friends, I had been hoping that things might improve enough for us to hold our Christmas Eve service tomorrow night. However, the temperatures stayed in the single digits, and as you can see below the parking lot is still very icy in places. Things will not likely be better by tomorrow night, and I’m worried that it’s simply not safe for many of our folks.
Additionally, the boiler in the education building has gone out. While the Sanctuary will be fine, walking through the building to get there is a chilly experience.

Given all that is going on, we are going to cancel our in-person Christmas Eve service tomorrow night. We will wait to make a decision about Christmas Sunday morning, but I’m hoping to offer worship to all who can make it but want to encourage our older folks to stay home and stay safe.

Our residents in the Housing Navigation Center are making do and we’ve taken some steps to keep them reasonably warm. It’s not great, but it’s working so far.

I hope to share later today an online option for Christmas Eve.

Blessings to you all,
Jay
