Serving Sunday on July 22, 2018

City Road Chapel UMC will hosting our monthly Serving Sunday this July 22, 2018. This is an opportunity for all of God’s children to be engaged in acts of service which help our neighbors.

We begin with our Feed the Need Emergency Food Bag program, which provides a quick meal to those in need who haven’t eaten in the past day. Immediately following the Celebrate worship service (11:15 a.m.) workers gather in the Welcome Center to stuff 50 food bags that will be distributed throughout the month to people in need. This is a relatively easy project that is done quickly, but helps a great number of people through the month.

Later in the evening, we invite our neighbors from throughout the community to gather in the Gym for our Feast Community Meal. The dinner, which is served at 5 p.m., is a chance to better know our neighbors, and to offer a time of food and fellowship to those who may be isolated or who simply need an evening out. We often have live music, and try to the best of our ability to make this a nice experience for all. We are always needing folks to come help serve the meal or simply be table hosts to talk with and listen to our guests! If you can help with The Feast, please come to our gym at 4 p.m.
