This Sunday, during both worship services, City Road Chapel will be taking up a special offering to support the work of The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). UMCOR Sunday (formerly One Great Hour of Sharing) is a time when our congregation thinks intentionally about the disaster relief work of The United Methodist Church. UMCOR is the first on the scene when a disaster strikes, and is very often the last organization standing in the long-term work of recovery. The offering we take this Sunday pays for the operations of the organization so that when a disaster strikes we are ready, and so that when people give to a specific relief effort, 100% of that donation goes to the area being served. Your gift goes far and wide as we work to alleviate suffering throughout the world.
