It is with sadness that we announce the resignation of our long-time organist, Brenda Johnson. Brenda has been a part of the City Road Chapel for over 28 years and will be deeply missed. Brenda is leaving to become the lead organist at the Hendersonville United Methodist Church.
“I love this church and so many of the members here!” Brenda wrote. “So, it has been more than difficult to make this decision. I have prayed a lot about where I am to be. Prayed for signs about what to do and every single one pointed to this answer.”
Brenda’s last Sunday with us will be February 26. She has asked that we don’t have a big goodbye as she feels she would be too emotional. But of course, you will want to offer your expressions of love and appreciation for Brenda’s ministry among us on a person-to-person basis.
We will be looking for a new organist, and Brenda has committed to helping us find substitutes until we find a permanent replacement.
